The Feral Corner is where you can keep up with FLWS activity! Want to know what we have been up to in the fields and farms lately? Check here frequently!
A Barbour County Deer hunter reached out for help. These feral hogs have completely taken over a whitetail deer feeding station.
They will continue to consume his deer corn and destroy the agriculture around, ultimately impacting other wildlife.
FLWS - is on the way!
With limited equipment at this time, FLWS was unable to get a trap down near a swampy area on a Barbour County residents land. Spending three nights watching, FLWS Staff observed 5 feral hogs and made a successful harvest.
Thermal night time hunting can be fun but it doesn't solve the solution. All this does and pushes the remaining sounder somewhere else. We will be spending the next several weeks making contact with other landowners in an attempt to document the noticed presence of feral hogs and make an attempt to trap them.
Dove Season came open and we got word that near a planted dove field was some new feral hog damage!
FLWS is currently working to make an attempt to prevent damage to these hunters planted fields!
Hopefully we will have an update soon!
